I guess those radical dudes really needed to get their daily supply of “carbos,” whatever the hell those are. Vault hung around for six years and was discontinued in 2011. Personally though I don’t see this easily pairing with any foods. Others spring up as part of a poorly planned publicity stunt, and then return as a soda “sequel,” as if such a thing were possible. Twist lived in a bourbon barrel for 7 years once. Available from 1997 to 2003, Surge was extremely tubular and totally awesome to the max, as evidenced by their TV commercials featuring a bunch of bad ass kids rolling down hills in oil drums and trampling over piss-stained couches in a race to get what appears to be the only remaining bottle of Surge on the planet. Whoa. This smells like Irish Cream. I have my doubts. The product was rebranded as “Shoutin’ Orange Tangergreen,” and later as “Crazy Citrus Cooler.” It was discontinued altogether in 2007. That initial taste brought snacks, a Gameboy, and a stack of comic books.

That, my friends, is a top notch soda. I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting this to taste like bourbon, but I wasn’t. I just don’t like the taste of alcoholic beverages in general. While I’ll save my gripes for the always vague “Natural Flavor”, I like this list and will no longer put off tasting this soda. Private Collection by Estée Lauder is a Floral Green fragrance for women.Private Collection was launched in 1973.

In 2005, Coca-Cola introduced a similar soda called Vault, which amazingly contained 50% more caffeine than Surge or Mountain Dew. This keeps the drink as smooth as silk butter on glass all the way through. It’s a bit of a struggle to get a good whiff actually.

Private Selection is a Kroger brand, but they do a good job keeping their name off the bottle and go with a simple, elegant design. It’s 2018 and we’ve got some new sodas to review. As big as they are they took a chance and made something unique that will be appreciated by a niche audience. But sometimes, that’s the way it goes — some horrible sodas continue to be produced for more than a century, while other amazing drinks have a tragically …

In addition to the many extinct sugary cereals and other discontinued foods of the 1980s and ’90s, here are 10 drinks you’ll never again see on store shelves…for better or for worse. However, it was so popular that it outlasted the cartoon series by six years, which was canceled in 1991. On the far end of the soda aisle, where the “fancy” sodas live, I saw a grouping of Private Selection brand beverages.

First things third (paragraph). UPDATE: In September 2014, Coca-Cola announced it would be bringing back Surge to be sold exclusively online via Amazon.com. It’s always nice to have the flavors listed on the label in attendance, even if just in the scent. That alone seems intriguing to me; let’s read off this fairly short ingredient list:  Carbonated Water, Cane Sugar, Tartaric Acid, Caramel Color, and Natural Flavor.

Our standby sodas are their versions of Diet Mountain Dew and Coke Zero, along with the diet cherry cola. I don’t think I’ve ever had a “smoky” cola before, but this certainly qualifies as one. By 1997, the Slimer character became completely unrecognizable to a generation of children born well after the cartoon ended. That said, to the untrained tongue this tastes like bourbon cola. I feel that’s important to tell you prior to drinking a soda with a potential simulated alcoholic taste. There’s not a colon between the two “Creams” but it just looks weird to me to write Irish Cream Cream Soda.

Fortunately for me one of the Private Selection sodas is a cola, specifically Bourbon Barrel Cola. The odd fruit-flavored cola was introduced in 1993 in a variety of urban test markets. Speaking of bright green beverages, Surge was a glowing, sickly colored neon liquid that was similar to Mountain Dew, but still “truly original and amazing” — at least, according to the online fan club that sprung up in the 2000s, begging the Coca-Cola Company to bring back the precious fizzy sugar water. All in all this is a fantastic soda that I would recommend to most anyone. Let me be upfront with you, I don’t drink much alcohol. Per the bottle, this cola is “enhanced with natural bourbon flavor with a crisp finish”. They all seem to be non-alcoholic sodas themed to be like alcoholic sodas. Private Selection - Irish Cream: Cream Soda is cane sugar sweetened which aids in minimizing the sticky feeling some sodas leave in your mouth after consumption. Ingredients, allergens, additives, nutrition facts, labels, origin of ingredients and information on product Private selection, cream soda, irish cream - 354 Ml Pepsi Blue tasted as bad as it looked — and if you think Mountain Dew is too sweet, be grateful you never experienced this abomination. It’s got the coffee aroma mixed with a bit of vanilla and liqueur.

Just saying. Private Selection - Irish Cream: Cream Soda is cane sugar sweetened which aids in minimizing the sticky feeling some sodas leave in your mouth after consumption.

It featured can artwork by alternative comics artists Daniel Clowes and Charles Burns, as well as cynical, quirky marketing that poked fun at traditional advertising. After drinking Private Selection Bourbon Barrel Cola I’m more than prepared to try the remaining flavors of the lineup.

Considering the seemingly endless supply of weird beverages and odd soda flavors still available today, it seems hard to believe that the 1980s and ’90s produced so many infamous and (somewhat bizarre) now-discontinued drinks.

Thank you, Kroger. Whereas Surge appealed to all the gnarly extreme sports nuts (i.e., teenagers sitting at home playing Doom and Myst) spawned by Dan Cortese, OK Soda was an earlier beverage that humored disillusioned slacker hipsters. 15 Celebrities in Commercials Before They Were Famous, THE EDNA WEBSTER COLLECTION OF UNDISCOVERED WRITING by Richard Brautigan, Coca-Cola announced it would be bringing back Surge. I’ve maybe, MAYBE, had bourbon once. So please, if you see a bottle pick it up, in fact pick up several and horde them for yourself.

It’s both smoky and woodsy. It’s an odd pairing, but they’ve been pretty spot on so far with their flavor creation. The advertising campaign tried too hard and the soda was gross, and the drink vanished after only seven months. It doesn’t really have a bite nor is it smooth, the taste is truly unique to my palate. Top notes are Green Notes, Hiacynth, Lime (Linden Blossom), Bergamot, Orange Blossom and Lemon; middle notes are Chrysanthemum, Narcissus, Honeysuckle, Mignonette, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Rose and Pear; base … Easy shipping, quick reordering. The faux alcohol taste is minimal and only pops its head out at the very end of each sip, like some annoying neighbor kid on a 50’s sitcom that instantly gets swatted away. I’m unsurprised by this due to their previous offerings and how they nailed their own perspective aromas. By the way, Smoky Cola sounds like a soda in a video game. Bottoms up. The Private Selection brand has some great sodas for sure, but it's amazing what you can get for a good price. The nose behind this fragrance is Vincent Marcello. But even with Walmart's oversized stores and its extensive selection, not everything has stayed on Walmart shelves over the years. He’s in it for the long haul.

The carbonation levels are low and comprised of tiny bubbles. It was introduced in 2002 and was discontinued in 2004 — except in Indonesia, which has experienced a massive increase in diabetes and obesity in the past decade.
